60th Anniversary of Twinning, 2022 Twinning Logo

From 10th-13th November, five members of the Twinning Association, accompanied by the Provost of East Lothian, were invited to Champigny to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the twinning agreement between our towns.
The mayors and representatives of Rosignano Marittimo and of Champigny's German twin town Bernau bei Berlin were also present.
Here is the Musselburgh delegation arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport, greeted by a member of Champigny's Twinning Committee.

In the evening, Champigny's cinema showed the film "Mary Queen of Scots", after which we took part in a question and answer session with the audience.

On 11th November, we all took part in the Armistice Day ceremony at the Monument aux Morts, commemorating those who died in two world wars.
The Provost joined others in laying a wreath.

  • The construction site of the Grand Paris Express (a major development of the Paris Metro)
  • The Champigny Portuguese community's St. Martin's Day celebrations
  • Champigny's Championship-winning Judo Club
  • The Foire au Troc et aux Cochons (An annual street market with entertainment)
  • A concert featuring the works of early 20th century composer Emile Waldteufel
  • The recently re-housed Musee de la Resistance Nationale
  • The Scots Kirk in Paris
We also had an initial discussion with the Mission Locale des Bords de Marne, who are hoping to arrange international work placements for young people.
