Burns Night 2020 Twinning Logo



On 24th-25th January, three guests from Champigny visited Musselburgh to celebrate Burns Night.
They began with a walking tour of sites connected with Burns' time in Edinburgh. Here they are
on the way to Clarinda's grave in the Old Town.

Twinning Association President Barry Turner hosted a Burns Supper,
which began with Rod Reeves addressing the haggis in French!

After the traditional meal there were recitals of poems and renditions of Burns' songs
by guitarist Ian Young, as well as some better-known French songs - Frere Jacques, Alouette and
Sur Le Pont d'Avignon.

Our guests also visited stitchers of the Battle of Pinkie Cleugh Tapestry at one of their
working sessions, and put in the first stitch of the panel featuring Mary of Guise.
